At Therapeutic Care, our approach is tailored to meet the individual and changing needs of all our children and young people.

Many children in care have experienced inconsistent, unreliable and unsafe care, however no two children’s stories are the same. We recognise the importance of ‘tuning in’ to a young person, being curious about their underlying needs and what their behaviours may be communicating. We work hard to connect with a young person in a way that supports them to tell their story and make meaning from their experiences. We sit alongside our young people not only through their bright moments, but also through their pain. Connecting with young people in this way enables us to gain a deeper understanding of the impact of their early trauma and adapt our care responsively. Understanding and responding to the needs of our practitioner teams is also a key part of our commitment to providing high quality and sustainable trauma-responsive care.
